McCormick is a multi-disciplinary artist, greatly informed by his experience navigating the American Midwest as a queer youth. Sweeney is deeply curious about the psychological effects our environment has on our ability to express emotion. Crafting daydreamed worlds where his subjects can play, fight, and grieve beyond the confines of reality. Finding beauty in rust stained driveways and his mother’s chipped nail polish. Since leaving Milwaukee McCormick has made a career selling original works & prints out of his Brooklyn studio.
